Democracy Lab’s “Young Journalists’ Network“ supported by the Media Mentorship Program of the US Embassy in Skopje, builds the capacities of young journalists in news gathering and reporting through a year-long series of professional training's and internship opportunities. YJN aims to create and sustain a network of young, independent-minded journalists, committed to the principles of ethical and independent journalism. Through their participation in the program, participants build their capacities in news gathering and reporting through a year-long series of professional training's and internship opportunities. The training's are designed and facilitated by international experts in cooperation with local experts.

Project Description

YJN will build the capacities of young journalists in news gathering and reporting through a year-long series of professional trainings and internship opportunities. This platform allows multiple users with different roles and permissions. It has a slick participants page that presents all the journalists portfolios. The platform is designed to handle high volumes of traffic with impressive performance.

Technology Used

NextJS with React, Netlify CMS and Tailwind CSS.

We make use of NextJS with React for generating a static website for better optimization and faster loading time. The styling is created with the help of Tailwind CSS. Netlify CMS is used as a backend Content Management System.
